The Carver Academy Difference
We Offer Excellent Academics in a Caring, Christian Environment
Giving your Children the Competitive Advantage in Life
In a world where America is falling behind other countries, our policy-makers invent a new educational program almost every election cycle -- carelessly tossing aside the tried and true methods of the past. The latest is "Common Core", which has had terrible results, leading to frustrated students and parents. When you enroll your child at Carver Academy, you are investing in your child's future where they will have a definite edge over public school peers in college and in the workplace. Your children will be equipped with the tools they need to succeed.
Carver Academy uses the A Beka curriculum as its foundation, which is research-based, time-tested, and produces proven academic results. Supplementing this curriculum is ACSI's Purposeful Design curriculum which brings hands on science into the classroom beginning in first grade, and great Bible lessons applied in the character of the lives of our students! James 1:22 says, "But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling
yourselves." (NLT) The Purposeful Design Bible curriculum doesn't just help students to know God's Word,
but to put it into practice!
Strong Foundation in Reading
Reading is the basis for every other type of learning. A Beka lays a strong foundation in phonics, so that
every student will be able to read by the end of Kindergarten, andthen build on that knowledge in first and
second grade. Beginning in third grade, weuse Purposeful Design's literature curriculum which has a
stronger emphasis on identifying story elements, critical thinking, and writing.
Qualified and Gifted Teachers
Our teachers are gifted, tested, experienced, and hired from within. We see them in action and know their
giftedness to teach along with their caring concern for children before we hire them. All of our teachers
have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and most have education degrees.
High Academic Standards
Carver Academy has high standards of excellence academically, spiritually, and behaviorally to prepare
students for success in college and in life. As a result, students are able to read in Kindergarten, write in cursive in first grade, do multiplication and division in second grade, and advance in every area through every grade of Carver Academy!
Students take standardized tests every Spring and on average perform one grade level higher than their peers nationwide. When we hire the best teachers and use the best curriculum, we get the best results!
Strong Character Education
The Bible and Christian character are woven into every subject at Carver Academy, so we partner with you in laying a foundation to complement the values that you are trying to instill in your children at home.
Critical Thinking Skills
Students are taught to not only memorize and comprehend information, but to apply it to their lives
and critically examine what they learn to prepare them for the rigors and varying worldviews of college.
Relationships between students and teachers are greatly valued at Carver Academy. Another unique goal of the school is the interaction among all age groups. Many schools do not have this age span of students on one campus.
Carver reflects the diversity of the communities it represents. Students will learn to respect and interact responsibly with a broad variety of cultures.
Moving into the Future
Due to the growth of Carver Academy, we have built a brand new facility on our beautiful, 58-acre Mountain Ridge campus! We will be added a technology/STEM-focused classroom with computer classes. In our first assignment, our 4th and 5th grade class learned about the components to build a computer from scratch and we actually built that computer and use it in our computer lab today!
Carver Academy is dedicated to training your child in preparation for the advanced technological world in which we live!
